HAPPY APRIL!!!
Yeah, it’s kinda late in the month for a newsletter, but I also don’t want to just throw out a newsletter without some, y’know, news.
New Books Are Coming Soon
The Complete Spider-Squirrel Volume One Ultimate Edition is funded and out with our printer, Comix Well Spring! The proofs were approved a couple weeks ago, so we’re just awaiting shipment & fulfillment of the latest Kickstarter campaign before they’re loaded into the Xion Studios online store.
I’m also in the middle of producing The Spider-Squirrel Titan-Sized Special, which will be a massive floppy comic with 80-100 pages of content, including a brand-new 24-pg Spider-Squirrel story written by me with art by Saul Shavanas. The rest of the book will be a series of anthological stories from across the Xion Universe, introducing you to new characters and new stories, from creators such as:
…and more!! Also, comics great Dean Haspiel has created a BRAND-NEW character just for this special: CHEST FACE!
Chest Face resides within the Xion Universe, but it wholly-owned by Dino. The character makes its first appearance in this special, and will have his solo book debut possibly later this year!
In this special you’ll have a little Canadian action, a little mystical-horror action, some personal, slice-of-life drama, some fun stories, and some weird. I’m looking forward to bringing this to you!
Here’s a teaser:
What’s Coming Next…
I expect that Rook: Return To Sender, a Xion Studios Pilot, will be the next release unless it’s preceded by GodQuest: Milestone #2. Both books will be crowdfunded on Kickstarter and/or Zoop. Rook is written by Dan Faust with incredible b&w art art by Dexter Wee and Full Court Press.
Shortly thereafter I’ll release Alpha-Elite: Showboats & Sh*theads, a Xion Studios Pilot, probably closely followed by the titan-sized special. Alpha-Elite is written by Daniel Kalban and Jochem van der Steen, with art by Davide Tinto, POW Rodrix, René Córdova, Saul Shavanas, and HdE.
Who Won Free Sh*t?
Thank you to those who voted in the last poll. I assumed that I could get more detail from SubStack on my polls than just “8 people voted for this…”, but I was SO wrong. UGH! As such, I’m left guessing who voted in the poll from the last newsletter. I’m going to basically draw straws using the numbers they gave me and randomly select the first group of monthly indiecomics freebie winners. I apologize for that.
So, from now on I’m using SurveyMonkey for polls because I can at least capture relevant data using the free version there. Completing the surveys there will give me the information I need to actually send the real voters real indiecomics swag.
If you complete the poll, I’ll enter you for a FREE shipment1 of random indiecomics physical books & goodies from across the community.
That’s all for now! Be sure to share and subscribe, if you haven’t already!
domestic addresses only (USA), but international poll voters can elect to pay exact shipping and still get free swag!
