Also, an update on me...
So, I totally failed on that “bi-weekly” thing, didn’t I…? I did. I lost energy with the holidays and my injury; turns out I had a hernia that needed repair and that bothered me the entire winter so far. The good news for me: it’s repaired! The not-so-good news is that I’m only just now going through recovery so I’m still in some pain. The better news is I’m back in action and a little reinvigorated!
Ok, without further ado, here are the crowdfunding campaigns I’m currently backing or following with intent to back!
Digitopia: The Graphic Novel Event
Freedom Fighters battle Totalitarian Government agents in this spectacular 'Matrix' meets 'Running Man' action Graphic Novel!
I met Farhan earlier last year when he launched Battle Panda and we opted to do a fun crossover print together. Battle Panda was a lot of fun and now he’s back with Digitopia. This book looks like a great pickup and I’m looking forward to having this one on my shelf. Part dystopian battleground, part underdog story, and terrific comicbook action making this title a “must-back!”

To be honest, while I find these perfectly adorable and really fun, my 12yo daughter saw them and fell in love, so I’m buying one of each for her birthday. They look so cute & squishy, and the Japanese/Korean style faces really make it (my daughter, Z, is learning Korean and actually on DuoLingo as I type this…)

Like Father, Like Daughter: A Superhero Drama Origin Story
A powered teen must choose between her deadbeat superhero father and her evil spy mother - a two volume origin story!
I admit it: I’m a big fan of Kat’s work. And it’s not just her comicbooks (which are great and I highly recommend you check them out), but it’s also her fantastic work for and in indiecomics. Kat is a huge proponent of indies, and Kickstarter, and she even runs a Kickstarter consulting practice that I’ve leveraged in the past. I absolutely recommend Kickstarter creators who’re looking to take their campaigns to the next level, or who are just starting out, to dig in and pay for her skills to help you be even more successful!
Anyway, LFLD is one of the first books I backed on Kickstarter, and I have Volume 1 already (I’ve read the series as both floppies and the trade), so I’m excitedly looking forward to Volume 2 — which also features a brand-new epilogue, “Invulnerable’s Last Fight.”

Steven is a helluva good dude, and a really dope creator. MM is a great series that, if you’re not yet, you should be reading! Kaijus & creatures, matadors & mistresses, fun & freaky, Monster Matador delivers!
