In these posts I share the crowdfunding campaigns I’m either backing, interested in, or just think are pretty damn cool and want to share with readers. Campaigns from Kickstarter, Zoop, and/or Indiegogo are typically highlighted here.
So, without further ado, here are this month’s top campaigns for me:
DARK VEIL #1 - A dark fantasy/horror universe begins!
Dark spirits are rising & infecting humanity as a supernatural war brews in the new saga from Space Between / Cheeky Comics' Pat Shand.

I’ve been a fan of Pat’s work since well-before we became friends. He’s a stand-up dude, but he’s also a dope-ass creator. This series, written by one of my American Yakuza co-creators, Chris Moses!
I’m very much looking forward to this new line of books despite not being much of a horror comic fan. Sometimes just the right mix of things makes something work.
I expect this to work very well.

First Place Losers #1: High-Octane Mech Racing!
A disgraced pilot and ex-con attempts to redeem himself through the world of mech racing. Think Speed Racer meets Gundam.

First Place Losers is a four-part limited series created by Andrew Maxwell, Flobo Boyce, and Max Davenport. Our goal is to raise funds to print and deliver issue #1.
Once mech racing’s fastest rising star, disgraced ex-con Jacco "The Bear" Jang, must once again prove himself in the sport. Now as a team principal instead of pilot, Jang must teach the young and reckless driver - Dee Gallo, the ropes. While also proving to his family and the rest of the world, that he’s worthy of redemption.
A friend of mine backed this and I loved the initial imagery. So, I checked it out and this is right up my alley! So, I backed it! Looking forward to this book — I think it’ll be both refreshing and energizing! If so, I’m in for the long-haul with this title!

The Exorcist Club #1-2 - A Spicy Supernatural Comic
A college student takes a job as an exorcist where she discovers the truth about spirits and a club keeping it all a secret.

I backed this one not just because he’s a friend & collaborator, but I really liked the first issue! Looking forward to continuing this series as a fan. Chris does a great job of capturing great character moments, creating fun, sometimes funny scenes/moments, and compelling world building. Check out Exorcist Club and grab a catch-up tier!

I’m honestly very shocked this one isn’t funded, yet, but it may be due to poor marketing? I dunno. I found this one by accident, myself, but the visuals were great and I like the premise, so I bought-in!
